The Java is considered to be the second oldest chicken breed developed in America. It is believed that originally, they might have come from the isle of Java. It is a slow growing breed and does really well free ranging. Javas have single combs and all javas have yellow skin and lay large brown eggs. Javas come in four color varieties: Black, Mottled, White, and Auburn. Here at Sunexotics, we are concentrating on the mottled Java. Mottled Javas have a very intense red eye color. Their feathers are a beautiful dark black with splashes of white. The legs are a blue color with yellow soles. Javas are docile by nature, hardy and calm.
